Super Bowl of Caring
At Imagine Bella, Super Bowl of Caring is an initiative to involve the students in community outreach, while intrinsically enhancing caring in every student. In January, each classroom chose a NFL football team to represent, and they decorated their classroom in that team’s colors and mascot. Each grade level also chose a group that they would care about. Groups varied from grandparents and American soldiers to animals and environment. The teams came up with a project that they would implement to care about their group. The school had kindergarteners singing songs in the nursing home, and students were picking up trash and recycling. Letters and care packages were sent overseas to the military personnel. At the end of January, the school finalized the event with a pep rally showcasing each team’s project and the progress they made to improve their own heart of caring. Through the years, each class will keep the same group that they chose to care about. As new projects are showcased each year, students will set personal and class goals of caring, and reflect on the progress they are making throughout the years to achieve their goals.
