Junior Police Program
Facilitated by a retired police detective, our students learn citizenship skills and the importance of upholding our laws for the benefit of creating a safe community. Leadership skills are exercised through various school and community projects, including food drives and other volunteer services. Field trips to the police museum and other community service work sites are included in the program to provide first-hand exposure to our community and the develop rapport with adult service providers. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, and weekly discussions include a range of things that concern adolescents, including goal setting, relationships, family, drugs and their consequences, and on becoming a role model to others.
