Families Learning Together, Growing Together
These programs are designed to cultivate the home school relationship. Since the program was implemented in 2010, we have seen a steady increase in participation. Specific activities are scheduled for each grade level and parents are invited to partner with their child in the classroom. The activities offer experience-based learning, are engaging, and highlight some aspect of the current curriculum. To further promote discussion of the activities completed within the classroom, we supply related materials for students to take home and encourage and welcome feedback from the parents. The take-home activity is meant to further strengthen the academic interaction between students and their parents, as well as provide opportunity for critical thinking skills and work-related habits to extend outside the school environment. The Miller School PTA plays a significant role in funding and supporting this program.
